Walking

Our little area of Dorset has some fantastic walks that are peaceful and beautiful. Get away from the crowds and explore! Cadbury CastleHambledon Hill, Corton Denham, or take the path straight from the farm into Sherborne, a beautiful small town. If you fancy some sea views, the Jurassic Coast is about an hour away. Think Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Arne – beautiful views and lovely walking.

We leave a few of our favourite walks for you to take a look at in the huts and the cottage. However, pretty much any footpath around here will take you through some gorgeous countryside.

Food and Drink

We have a range of pub food, award winning takeaway at Something Else Fishy, and fine dining at The Clockspire in Milborne Port (just one mile away!).

Sherborne, an hour and a half walk through the fields (or a ten minute drive), has a great selection of resturants, pubs and cafes ranging from traditional, to tapas, to italian.

If you fancy cooking yourself, you might like to make use of the local independant food stores, including Ingredients in Sherborne, or Dike and Sons, an award winning independant supermarket in Stalbridge.

Attractions

It’s always important to think about the rainy days when planning what to do! Luckily, there’s a bit of something for everyone! Whether it’s National Trust houses Stourhead or Montacute, or Sherborne Abbey and Sherborne Castles. If military histories more your thing, try Fleet Air Arm museum, or Bovington Tank Museum.

Or Something Different?

Having lived here for so long, we can pretty much suggest anything to suit your stay! Perhaps you fancy spinning a few pots with our local potter Anna Stiles, or maybe a fresh cider made only 3 miles from the farm enjoyed in a traditional cider barn? Kayaking on a canal, or fossil hunting at Lyme Regis? Searching through reclamation yards and antique centres for that perfect piece or tasting local treats in farm shops?

Whatever it is, let us know and we’ll try to recommend something for you!
